Types Of Epoxy Resins
Leave a message
Glycidyl ether epoxy resins are sometimes further classified as bisphenol F epoxy resins, Novolac epoxy resins, bisphenol A epoxy resins, and trimethylolpropane epoxy resins. When the repeating unit n of bisphenol A epoxy resin is 25 to 100, it is generally called a linear epoxy resin. Based on their chemical structure, epoxy resins can be divided into the following five types:
Glycidyl ether epoxy resins
Glycidyl ether epoxy resins are products obtained by reacting a polyphenol (or polyol) with epichlorohydrin and removing the hydrogen chloride.
Glycidyl ester epoxy resins
Glycidyl ester epoxy resins are products obtained by reacting a di- or polycarboxylic acid with epichlorohydrin and removing the hydrogen chloride.
Glycidylamine epoxy resins
Glycidylamine epoxy resins are products obtained by reacting a polyamine with epichlorohydrin and removing the hydrogen chloride.
Cycloaliphatic Epoxy Resins
Products obtained by reacting diene ethers and esters with acetic acid or other substances; products obtained by reacting butadiene and cyclopentadiene via the Diels-Alder reaction to form cyclopentadiene, which is then oxidized with a peracid; products obtained by reacting cyclohexanone with formaldehyde to form a condensate, which is then reacted with epichlorohydrin to remove the hydrogen chloride.
Element-Modified Epoxy Resins
Element-modified epoxy resins are epoxy resins that incorporate characteristic elements, such as halogens, titanium atoms, and silicon atoms, into the epoxy resin molecule to improve its flame retardancy, temperature resistance, dielectric properties, and water resistance.
